The hail scope records the damage on each panel the way you would on a paper scope sheet: how many dents, what size (dime, nickel, quarter or half dollar), how many oversize dents, and whether the panel needs replacing. The PDR invoice then prices each panel, with the scope’s damage shown next to each line so nothing gets missed. Both print as PDFs from the claim.
Who can do this
- Scope: anyone who can see the claim.
- PDR invoice: members who can see financials (Owner, Manager and Admin by default). The Invoice tab is hidden for everyone else.
Steps
Fill in the hail scope
- Open the claim and click the Scope tab. The card is called Hail scope.
- If the vehicle is a pickup, tick Truck (bedsides) to swap the quarter panels for bedsides.
- For each panel (Roof, Hood, Deck lid, roof rails, quarter panels, doors and fenders on both sides):
- Use − and + to set the dent count range (0, 1-5, 6-15, 16-30, 31-50, 51-100, 101-150, 151-200 or 200+).
- Tap the size button to cycle through Dime, Nickel, Quarter and Half dollar.
- Use the OS stepper for oversize dents.
- Tap Replace if the panel needs replacing.
- Add a Note if needed.
- To record damaged parts, tick Include parts. Each door and quarter panel then shows its part buttons (such as Upper Molding, Lower Molding, Mirror Glass, Mirror Assembly and Quarter Glass), and you can tick Windshield damaged and Back glass damaged.
- Fill in Other parts (moldings, mirror caps and so on) and Prior damage (pre-existing damage noted at intake).
- Click Save scope. The header shows how many panels are marked.
- Click Sheet (PDF) to open the printed scope sheet. You can also print it from the Docs tab with Hail scope sheet (PDF).
Price the PDR invoice
- Open the claim’s Invoice tab. The card is called PDR invoice.
- Each panel line shows the scope’s damage (for example “31-50 Q + 2 OS” or “REPLACE”). Type the price, or use − and + to change it in $50 steps. Add a Note per line if needed.
- Enter Parts and R&I amounts if they apply, with a note (for example “Headliner, trim”).
- The INVOICE TOTAL box adds up the panels, parts and R&I. To use a different total, type it in OVERRIDE TOTAL (leave it at 0 to use the sum).
- Check the Cross-checks list: it tells you if any scoped panel isn’t priced yet and whether the total matches the payments recorded on the claim, and it shows the deductible.
- Fill in Prior damage and Other notes if needed.
- Click Save invoice, then Invoice (PDF) to open the printed invoice.
Good to know
- The scope’s damage shorthand shows beside each invoice line, so scope the car first, then price it.
- The PDR invoice PDF is also on the Docs tab as PDR invoice (PDF).
- Like all documents, the PDFs need your shop’s phone, email, address and Tax ID / EIN in Settings.
- On plans below Annual, PDFs carry the Dent Shop Manager watermark and are locked.
- The phone app has both screens too: open the claim and tap Scope or PDR invoice.
